Custom mobile and cloud software

Build a business app around QR, barcode, or NFC scans

A custom scanning app can identify an item, package, asset, location, order, or field job, then open the right action and send the completed record to the business system. The scan starts the workflow; the worker still checks and enters the job details.

Start with the job the worker completes after the scan

A QR code, barcode, or NFC tag gives the app a fast way to identify something already known to the system. That might be a pump at a service call, a package in receiving, a part in a warehouse bin, a paint container that needs a restocking order, or a piece of equipment on the shop floor.

The useful part comes next: show the worker the right information and action, collect the required details, and update the correct business record. Build the app around that workplace handoff, not around scanning by itself.

Use scanning for ordering, tracking, or field records

B2B ordering

Scan a product label, show the available item and ordering details, enter the amount, and send a restocking order through the configured system.

Inventory and asset management

Identify stock, tools, equipment, assets, and locations before recording a receive, issue, transfer, count, condition, or assignment.

Mobile field data

Scan equipment or a job location, open the available form, and record service work, readings, photos, findings, parts, or sign-off beside the machinery.

Keep the scan and the completed work record separate

The scan identifies the available record or action. It does not prove that the work was completed, the quantity was correct, the asset was inspected, or the package reached its destination. The worker's entries and submitted transaction record what happened.

  1. 01Scan the identifierUse the phone camera, a supported NFC reader, or an available Bluetooth barcode scanner.
  2. 02Match the recordOpen the available item, package, asset, location, order, or field job.
  3. 03Complete the actionEnter the quantity, status, work, photo, note, signature, or other required job detail.
  4. 04Update the business systemSubmit the result to the configured cloud, database, or connected internal system.
Identifier scan → available record → worker action → submitted business record.

Choose the scanner, phone, and system connection for the workplace

A phone camera can handle many QR code and barcode jobs. NFC can make short-range identification faster when the phone and tag support the required standard. A separate Bluetooth scanner may fit high-volume work or labels that are hard to reach with a phone camera.

The project also needs clear decisions about Android or iOS devices, offline work, user access, label data, duplicate or damaged labels, validation, the record of changes, and the API or file exchange used by the business system.

Bring the real labels, screens, and handoff rules to the project

Start with samples of the QR codes, barcodes, or NFC tags already in use. List who scans them, where the job happens, what must appear on the phone, what the worker enters, and what the office or warehouse manager needs afterward.

Also identify the system of record, available APIs or imports, security rules, supported phones, expected scan volume, connection conditions, and the exceptions workers handle today. Those details define the custom app more clearly than a general feature list.

Questions from the job

Frequently asked questions

Can a custom app scan QR codes and barcodes with a phone camera?

Yes. A supported Android or iOS app can use the phone camera to scan the QR codes and barcodes required by the planned business workflow.

Can a custom mobile app read NFC tags?

Yes, when the chosen phone, tag, operating system, and application setup support the required NFC reading. The project must confirm those device and tag details.

What happens after the app scans a label or tag?

The scan identifies the available record or action. The app can then show information, collect the required job details, and send the submitted result to the configured business system.
