AHG project archive

CropCents feed cost tracking app

This project archive records a website, mobile app, and database AHG built to help dairy farmers calculate the cost of growing feed. Farmers could compare that figure with buying feed on the open market and review different choices.

Work out what home-grown feed really cost

The source described a farm calculation made harder because farmers might own or rent land, hire labor, pay for cutting and storing feed, and cut a field more than once. Dairy farmers needed a structured way to bring those costs together.

What AHG built for the feed-cost job

AHG built a website, mobile app, and database that walked a farmer through the feed-growing expense calculation. The resulting figure could be compared with purchasing feed on the open market.

How the farm-cost comparison worked

  1. 01 Enter farm conditions The farmer recorded the land, labor, harvest, cutting, storage, and other available cost details.
  2. 02 Calculate growing cost The system brought the entered expenses together for the home-grown feed estimate.
  3. 03 Compare the choices The farmer could compare the estimate with the cost of buying feed on the open market.

What this project record supports

The source supports the website, mobile app, database, expense-calculation, and buy-versus-grow comparison described on this page.

It did not provide measured savings, calculation formulas, current availability, or a current customer relationship.
