QR Inventory help

Use QR Inventory Voice commands

Use the microphone button, speak a supported command or visible button or field label, and check the live transcript. Universal commands run first, then visible controls, then inventory-query matching.

Find the command for the screen and job in front of you

Use the quick reference first when you need a common stock lookup, transaction, scan, cart change, form-field entry, or screen-navigation command. The full reference that follows keeps every supported screen and phrase documented in one place.

Watch the live transcript while you speak. A voice command starts an available action or fills an available field; it does not replace the worker's check of the item, location, quantity, or completed transaction.

Quick Reference

Ask about stock or items — just ask, in your own words:

  • "Where do we have pumps?" · "How many light bulbs do we have?"
  • "What do we have in Boise warehouse?" · "Show details for pump PX-100"
  • "Show all items with voltage 120" · "What is allocated for job XYZ15?"

Works on every screen: "Back" or "Close" — go back · "Home" — main screen · "Clear" or "Start Over" — reset the screen.

Run a transaction: say "Do a transaction" (or "receive", "issue", "transfer"). While transaction view is open, the app listens only for transaction commands:

  • "Transaction Type" — opens the type list; say the type's name
  • "From location B27" · "To location B27" — set locations or assemblies; when a list opens, say the option's name, or "Cancel"
  • "Next" — continue · "Clear" — cancel

On other screens, every button and field is speakable:

  • Press a button by saying its name, or "button" + its name — "Submit", "button Preview"
  • Fill a field with "set quantity to 5" (or "button quantity 5"); "clear quantity" empties it · say just "button quantity" to pick the field, then speak the value

Scanning works alongside voice: say "Scan" wherever a scan button is shown to open the QR scanner.

Fix a misheard command: everything you say appears in the text box — correct it by typing, then say or tap "Process Command". "Clear Text" empties the box.

QR Inventory - App Functionality Reference

Reference for every screen in QR Inventory Voice: taps, voice commands, and how the voice pipeline routes utterances. Voice runs fully on-device.

1. How voice works (5-minute orientation)

The mic button

Tap the mic icon in the header to toggle voice:

  • Slashed grey - off
  • Solid red - listening, speak normally

The state is remembered across screens.

What the app shows you while listening

A teal italic banner at the top of the screen shows the live transcript. To correct it, just speak again - the new utterance replaces the old. The banner clears ~3 seconds after you stop, or when a result/error replaces it.

Three command layers (priority order)

Your speech is routed in this order:

  1. Universal commands - "back", "home", "clear", "start over", "scan", "submit". Fastest.
  2. Button dispatcher - say a visible button or field label, or "button [label];". Examples: "submit", "button next", "field Voltage 120", "sync with server".
  3. Intent matcher / LLM - inventory queries like "show me pumps", "info on QB-35", "do transaction transfer".

Universal commands (work everywhere)

These work on every voice-enabled screen, including in dialogs:

Phrase Action
back · go back · close · exit · dismiss Finish the current screen
home · go home Return to Home (clears in-progress state)
clear Clear transient display (results, transcription)
start over · restart Reset the screen to its initial state
submit · done · next · save · proceed · continue Advance / submit
scan · scan barcode · scan qr · scan code Open the camera scanner

Behaviors worth knowing

  • Auto-proceed after voice fill - in most cases 5 seconds after voice fills the text field, lookup runs automatically. Re-speak to overwrite, say next to fast-track, or clear to cancel.
  • Auto-search after voice keywords - on the keyword search screen, search runs 2 seconds after you stop speaking.
  • Typing locks voice - once you type into a field, voice won't overwrite it. Clear the field to release the lock.
  • Voice fills text fields - say a value while a field has voice focus.
  • Phonetic ID matching - the app retries with 0 ↔︎ O [zero ↔︎ O] and 8↔︎A substitutions if a spoken ID doesn't match.
